"Working w/ SanDee eliminated the neck and shoulder pain on the 1st visit"
- Gregory L.
A little about me:
I have 15+ years of experience doing massage therapy with training in Swedish techniques, Trigger Point, deep tissue, Craniosacral Therapy, oncology massage, pre-natal massage, Reflexology, Cupping, Gua Sha. I am a Reiki Master and a Functional Gait Assessment Specialist, working with clients to be pain free from the feet up.
I LOVE WHAT I DO!
When you have hands the size of baseball mitts, you were born to do massage. It all started with my grandpa asking me, as a little kid, to rub his feet because they hurt so much from diabetic neuropathy. As I got older, other members of my family would ask for back rubs or neck rubs because I always had the strongest hands and it seemed to make them feel better.
When I was older and playing sports, I had some injuries that I researched on how to rehabilitate and recover from. When coaching athletes of all ages, I studied how to help them perform at their best and keep them injury free. If they did have an injury, we worked together to get them back in the game. Sometimes even stronger than before the injury.
This led to a B.A. in Physical Education from Cal State Long Beach and a lifelong passion for learning as much as I can about how the body responds to training and recovers from injury.
From there I coached several sports, was a Personal Trainer and worked in the business world but was looking for more. I trained at the California Holistic Institute in massage and Reiki. Later I trained with the Upledger Institute in Craniosacral Therapy and have certifications in Oncology massage, Pre-natal, cupping, Gua Sha and Reflexology. I am licensed in the state of Missouri #2020043255
Recently I trained with Gait Happens, and am now a Functional Gait Assessment Specialist, working with clients to get healthy from their feet up.
I believe that given enough time and space, the body has an incredible ability to heal from just about anything. Pain is a message from the body asking for help. If we ignore that pain, it drives it deeper in the system and leads to chronic problems that can affect daily function and happiness. With 15 years of doing massage and bodywork, I have seen some wonderful people change their experience through persistence and bodywork.
As life happens, I have learned the power of being still. Learning meditation helped me get through some really tough times, decreased anxiety and allows me to tap into a higher power. Now I show others how to benefit. I have studied breath and energy work and seen the power and effect of something so simple and yet, so complex.
I strive to live mindfully by allowing life to manifest to my highest good. This means I get to do what I love and spend time with those who lift me up. I am "Grammy" to two amazing and beautiful girls and enjoy spending time with their parents, (my "kids") and five cats. I love where I live and spending time in nature as much as possible. Care of my body, especially as I get older, has become a priority and I enjoy finding new ways to take care of me, to better serve those around me.
